The 200-hour Alberta Yoga College Program provides a complete training three times per year. You don’t have to wait long. You can start at the beginning of the next session.

So if you want, you can devote the next three months to an intensive training or, by agreement with the Director, you can take a more leisurely pace and complete the program over a longer period. This program is ideal for any serious student of yoga, even if you have no intention of teaching. It is recognized by Yoga Alliance and comprises:

  • Yoga Philosophy and Spirituality, Lifestyle and Ethics

  • Anatomy and Physiology: understanding how asanas work

  •  Asana/Pranayama - Techniques training and practice

  •  Asana – Teaching Methodology

  • Assisting and observing: You learn by watching the experts

The Anatomy and the Philosophy/Spirituality modules are mostly held on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm.These can be taken separately for those with less available funds or more time commitments elsewhere.

The Technique Training (Asanas) happens on Friday evenings from 6pm to 9pm and Saturday afternoons, from noon to 4:15pm.

Students who complete the 200-Hour Teacher Training program will:

  • Deepen their practice and understanding of yoga

  • Know how to structure and create a cohesive, well-rounded class

  • Acquire an understanding of Classical Yoga philosophy, spirituality, and anatomy

  • Have the confidence and tools to begin teaching yoga.

  • Join a welcoming and inclusive community and combat anxiety.

  • Will receive a certification of completion which they can use to register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level and share with prospective employers

  • Don't want to teach? Just want to deepen your knowledge? This program is also designed for you!

  • Assisting and observing: You learn by watching the experts. 16 classes with approved teachers.
